Lulworth class – Learning To Tell the Time

Last week Lulworth class were learning to tell the time (O’clock only), we thought it would be fun to make it practical, so we made a big circle using rope. We asked the children to put the numbers in the right place, then we took it in turns to roll two dice then the children had to use themselves as the hands on the clock. They had great fun and have asked to play the “clock game” again. Some of the children are using the markings on the playground to play the game at play-times.

Sports Relief – Active Sessions Postponed

Dear Parents,

On the advice of the Bounce Inflatables company, we will have to postpone the active sessions scheduled for tomorrow due to the weather and ground conditions. The sessions will now take place on Friday 20th April. We will still go ahead with sports non uniform tomorrow and all donations will be gratefully received, including the £2 for the activity zone. Sports non uniform may also be worn on Friday 20th April. Fingers crossed for no more ‘beasts from the east’. Apologies for the disruption.

3 Owls Visit Lulworth Class

Last Wednesday we had 3 owls visit Lulworth. A man called Peter Wheildon, came all the way from Winchester, with two barn owls, called Dyson and Wiggy and a Tawny owl called Oakley. Dyson was only 8 months old. The other two were 3-4 years old. All the children got a chance to hold and stroke Dyson and Oakley. The children really enjoyed the hands on experience. Sam fell in love with Dyson and tried taking him home. Pete had to keep checking his owl box to make sure Dyson was in it. We had lots of other people from around the school coming into class unexpectedly to see the owls. It was very therapeutic for all those involved.

Cinderella Pantomime

This term we were fortunate enough to have had another visit from M&M Productions. This year they performed ‘Cinderella’ for us. The hall was packed with pupils from each department all enjoying the show. There was plenty of audience participation with lots of singing, dancing, clapping and cheering! A truly enjoyable and engaging afternoon.

A big thank you to the charity ‘Happy Days’ who funded the whole show for us.
