Parent Support

At Beaucroft, all parents/carers are valued as part of our school community, we aim to build a close relationship with parents/carers as it is crucial if we are to encourage each pupils learning and development and therefore bring out the best of their abilities. We aim to work alongside parents/carers to ensure a ‘joined up’ approach with home and school.

Offering early intervention can make a real difference to the lives of parents and therefore of children and young people whatever the background.

What we do

positive-parenting

We offer a parent support group to the parents/carers of children at Beaucroft School. The sessions provide a friendly, sociable environment for sharing experiences and developing new skills. The group runs for six weeks, lasting 2 hours each time.

Parent Quote “I would recommend every parent to sign up for this friendly informative course. The support you get from the facilitators is great however chatting to other parents has been invaluable to me. I realised for the first time that I am not alone”

Parent Quote “The only negative thing about the course is that I will miss it now it has finished.”

There are follow on sessions after the initial six-week course, to maintain the support built within the group.

coffee-morning-2

We also hold open coffee mornings every half term, this provides an opportunity for families to meet each other and chat to the support team. In the past we have invited guest speakers in to talk/give advice on Will writing, cooking/nutrition, relaxation techniques and signalong training etc. We are always looking for ways to support our parents/carers and if you have any ideas or know of anybody that would be willing to share their knowledge/profession, we are open to suggestions.

1-2-1

Mandy and Catherine also offer 1:1 support for parents.

The approach is always low key and supportive and there’s usually coffee and biscuits in the mix somewhere!!
